Our position is quite simple, anyone who does not perform their duties as required, and who becomes a burden to the business, is someone who is putting the livelihoods of everyone else at risk, and hindering our strategic growth plans. We cannot tolerate this and do not. We are aware of the laws of the land and will follow the fair dismissal during probabtion in removing you from our business. We have a probabtion period in our Employement Contract, read more about this in the Labour Relations page. We take no pleasure in the performance management process that either remediates (which when successful is great!) but invariably removes poor performers from our business - in fact we find it very distressing sometimes, help us avoid such conflict.

With all of this in mind, it is important that you have both the technical ability (or potential to acquire this for more junior roles), but more importantly fit with our culture and entrepreneurial spirit. We call this the Skill and Will Balance. We would much rather work with a technically weak individual, who has a great attitude and energy and in whom we can place our trust, than with someone who is technically brilliant but a poor fit in terms of their behaviour and entitlements.

Permananent Positions

Toolroom Manager - with these duties - reasonably expected of a Qualified and Experienced Individual.
Head of Maintainance - duties - requiring the skills of a seasoned Fitter and Turner.

Contract Positions

Qualified and Experienced Tool & Die Maker - with these duties - reasonably expected of a Qualified Individual.

Our preference will be to convert any contract position to permanent in the longer term, but we understand that many people wish to have the freedom to work independently and to have alternative revenue streams available to them.

One last suggestion

We always ask prospect candidates (whether for an independent contractor or permanenet position) to go through our website properly, and if you have done so, this is part of the benefit of soing so.....(there are others)
